Little Things Bloggers Crave.

Interesting little article I thought

The funny thing about blogging is that it is exhilarating and brilliant to get a reach. Especially for those who are working on products and services. A blog is almost the equivalent of a website, well it is a website, but here’s the thing

it is a website that is personal

it allows for the customer to feel for the product or service you have to offer.

need I say more?

Black Hole in the universe

Image via Wikipedia

Have you ever had a point in life when your memory just seems to quit? When you truthfully cannot remember an entire period of time? It seems like your memory just escaped into the black hole of life.

This, to most people’s amusement happens to me quite often. Just today in fact. I finished dinner and set about my evening routine when I realized that I don’t even remember how I got home from work. This is scary because it is a whole 30 minute period that I have no recollection of. I know I drove home, because my car is currently sitting outside (still in one piece, thank goodness), but I cannot for the life of me remember the drive home.

These black holes in my memory span from as recent as today to many years ago. For example, I don’t remember going to Disney Land when I was ten, even though it was an eventful trip (or so I’m told).  It doesn’t seem to matter how hard I try, I cannot remember what I did last weekend.  I actually do know what I did last weekend because there are pictures, the world of social media can be so cruel.

My employees loved my “black hole memory”.  It gave them the opportunity to come to work, pick the project they wanted to work on then claim that I assigned them that project.  After a few claims of “well, you told me to sit here and watch the door” I took to writing things down.  Now, they are not so happy, and actually quite vocal about the fact.

I have been to see a doctor and had a barrage of tests done to find out if there is anything wrong with me.  After many nervous days of waiting the results came back.  There is plenty wrong with me, unfortunately none of it has anything to do with my memory.  So for now, I’m stuck taking Ginko, when I can remember to take it, and draining the battery of my tablet keeping constant notes on my chaotic and ever-changing life.

At least I’m never bored.  I can spend hours trying to decipher the cryptic notes I leave myself.  How “kick the book” and  “surrender flag” are connected I’ve yet to determine.

Ciao for now!

Profanity Trail

I recently stumbled across a fantastically funny book on the English language. If the reader can stop laughing long enough to read it, they will discover a treasure trove of language gems. The particular specialty of this is book is to offer alternate options for the use of a variety of foul language.

I bring this up because my place of employment is a rather unique environment.  Most of the people that I work with could be deemed “rough and tough and hard to bluff”.  Ok, I could probably bluff most of them but they are a very hard-working group of people.  They can also be a very foul-mouthed group of people.

In an effort to improve the “atmosphere” at work, we used the above mentioned book to create our own version of foul language.  This allows our team to swear at random while not offending other co-workers or customers.

What, you may ask is the most commonly used word?  I am so glad you asked!

Shucksy darn oh pooh!

Try using this alternative in place of a foul word, and see just how many quizzical looks and even smiles appear.  I guarantee it will be a conversation starter or at least an ice breaker!

Ciao for now!
